Part 3: Ethnicity
Encompassing a large diverse body of traditions and culture, the Ethnicity DVD of the Mirror Images series introduces you to the people who deal with a non-homogenous minority and are still dealing with prejudice and discrimination in America.
Some of the people you'll see and hear are Loida, Spanish Harlem native and former Broadway star; Arnaldo, Central American immigrant; Eddie, proud of his Puerto Rican heritage; Michael, skating the line of traditional and modern relationships; and Krystal, foster child living with a non-Latino family. All face the stereotypes that still exist in America.
Racial profiling, matriarchal households, career mobility, gang involvement, interracial marriage and language barriers are just some of the topics discussed as each person invites you into their lives. Many of the topics will strike a chord with viewers who can empathize based on their own experiences.
Each, through their candid and personal insights, share the ongoing story of what it means to be Latino in America, how their personal histories and upbringing have shaped their lives and perspectives, and what their hopes are for the future.
